In a few weeks time, Justice League will hit cinemas, as DC's roster of big screen superheroes continues to grow. With rumours swirling about the inclusion of The Green Lantern and Supergirl, we now have confirmation for a different DC character - Shazam! 

According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Zachary Levi (Chuck, Thor: The Dark World) has been cast in the lead role, with a 2018 release date on the cards. DC also has a Black Adam standalone flick in the works, but it's unclear at this stage if Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will be appearing as Adam in the Shazam! Film. 

For those unfamiliar with Shazam!'s lore, formerly known as Captain Marvel, he's in fact a young teenager named Billy Batson whose imbued with the powers of Greek gods when he utters the word shazam. Fairly comparable to Superman in terms of power, it should be interesting to see how he's portrayed on the big screen.
