iPhone X and iPad Pro added to Netflix's HDR supported devices
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 22 September 2017 | Categories: newsWith HDR (High Dynamic Range) one of the major trends this year for mobile devices, it was only a matter of time before support from streaming services entered the mix. One of the first to do so has been Netflix, with the company listing a handful of new Android devices in recent weeks, including the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Sony Xperia XZ1 and LG V30.
Now it's the time for iOS devices to be added to the list, with the new iPhone X and iPad Pro making the cut. The former offering is yet to make its way to market, which means users will only be able to try out Netflix on the iPhone X's all-screen display from mid-November onwards. The iPad Pro, however, should be more easily accessible, with Netflix adding support for the 10.5" iPad Pro and 2017 12.9" model.
As far as HDR content from Netflix is concerned, the vast majority of the streaming platform's original programming is available in the enhanced format, with a solid selection of movies as well. With HDR set to become more prevalent in devices outside the flagship tier next year, we should see this list increase even further.
