New Nokia 5250 unveiled
By Hanleigh Daniels 25 August 2010 | Categories: newsNokia has launched its latest model, the Nokia 5250, a touch-screen phone targeting users who have a limited budget, but still want a capable mobile phone.
The 5250 is compact measuring in at 104 x 49 x 14 mm and sports a 2.8" TFT (640 x 360 pixels) display, 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, 51 MB of on-board memory and supports microSD cards up to 16 GB in seize. It runs on Symbian^1 operating system and comes with a free copy of Guitar Hero 5 Mobile overseas.
According to Nokia the 5250’s battery will last up to 18 days in standby mode, allows for talk time of up to seven hours or continuous music playback of up to 24 hours. Nokia’s 5250 will cost €115 (around R1 070) and will be available in selected markets by Q4 2010. No word yet on local release and pricing details.
In related news, after pictures of MeeGo running Nokia N9 smartphone emerged on the net last week, it was only a matter of time before the unofficial specs would follow.
According to NokNok, the device is going to sport a 4" Super AMOLED display (resolution of 800 x 480 pixels), 64 GB internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, 1 GB of system storage, 720p HD video recording just like the Nokia N8 and will be powered by the Qualcomm 1 GHz QSD8250 CPU. Other specs include 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, HSPA+, Bluetooth 2.1 and aGPS.
