The Sixth Sense director's recent track record has been mixed to say the least. With films like The Last Airbender and The Visit taking up space on his IMDB page, it's time for M. Night Shyamalan to return to form. Could Split be that movie? 

It stars James McAvoy (X-Men: Apocalypse) as one of 23 characters, as he suffers from split personality disorder. In the trailer below, one of his personas abducts three unsuspecting teenage girls, where he keeps them trapped in the basement of a building. What makes this trailer particularly intriguing, are the several references to the beast, a character that even McAvoy's personas are afraid of.

While there is no doubt some major twist at the end of this film, as is Shyamalan's style, we're simply hoping that the director has found his mojo once again. Split is set for release on 20 January 2017 in the UK.
