Mattel made a life-sized X-Wing car for Comic-Con
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 21 July 2016 | Categories: newsComic-Con kicks off today, bringing with it all kinds of geek goodness. One of the permanent fixtures for the San Diego, California held event is a life-size Hot Wheels car from Mattel. This year the company took inspiration from Star Wars to create a life-size X-Wing car.
The finer details on this vehicle are unknown, but the video does state that more than 1000 pounds (453 kg) of metal was used in construction. It also looks pretty rapid, but the precise 0-100 km/h time or top speed has not been disclosed.
That doesn't really matter though, as we're sure fans of the original Star Wars trilogy will appreciate the effort to design a fully functional X-Wing Fighter for the racetrack. See it tear up the track in the video below, as well as dodge fire from some TIE fighters.
