New Jump Street Men in Black crossover plus female spinoff in works
By Staff Writer 30 April 2015 | Categories: newsThe Jump Street reboot starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill has done amazingly well, with both movies lighting up the box office. Word is that Sony Pictures is set to expand the Jump Street universe even further, with not just a Men in Black crossover movie in the pipeline, but also a female driven spinoff title.
According to The Wrap, Broad City writers Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs are set to pen the spinoff movie, speculating that Dakota Johnson, known more recently for her role in 50 Shades of Grey, might take the lead, seeing that she was featured as an officer in 21 Jump Street.
The Men in Black crossover will essentially be 23 Jump Street, starring favourites Tatum and Hill, while we can only hope that Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith will also make an appearance. Jump Street regulars Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are set to direct both movies.
The end of 22 Jump Street saw the movie poking fun at possible follow-ups, but a Men in Black title was not among them. Check it out below.
