The Mummy with Tom Cruise receives second trailer
By Staff Writer 3 April 2017 | Categories: newsThings are looking pretty good for The Mummy reboot, with trailer number two released over the weekend. Where the previous one focused on a rather intense in-flight situation, this new trailer takes us all over the show and even gives the backstory to why the new Mummy is so upset.
Egyptian princess Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella, Star Trek Beyond) was all set for the crown, however, she took a turn towards the dark side when her lust for power became too great. The premature wake-up call she receives from our hero Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) certainly doesn’t sit well with her, and she proceeds to pursue him, now also undead, for her own nefarious means. Ahmanet brings with her unfathomable destruction, immense abilities and lots of sand, not seen since witnessing X-Men: Apocalypse.
Fans of the Uncharted video game might feel the urge to call out director Alex Kurtzman (People Like Us) for making a movie that has a similar feel to cut scenes from the game. Nonetheless, The Mummy looks like a romp, even though we have to witness a sandstorm/blast morphing into the shrieking head of our antagonist for the umpteenth time.
