There are some that say that the Resident Evil movie franchise has perhaps gone on too long. It had its highlights, but let’s be honest, there were definitely a couple of plonkers along the way. The end of the series is imminent, with the first trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter having been released.

It’s all dark vignetting and Guns 'N Roses as Alice (Milla Jovovich) makes her way back to where everything started – Racoon City, and a final face-off against the Umbrella Corporation. Back in the director’s chair is Jovovich’s spouse, Paul W. S. Anderson (AVP: Alien vs. Predator), with some of the principle photography taking place in Cape Town and Hartbeespoort Dam. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is scheduled for release in early 2017.
