Afrihost is hot on the broadband heels of MWEB, with their announcement yesterday of their uncapped ADSL pricing. This move seems like the first in an imminent price war between ISP's for uncapped ADSL, as all Afrihost's offerings are cheaper than MWEB's equivalent deals.

During their testing phase, Afrihost is going to limit the number of sign-ups for its uncapped ADSL, while also only offering a line speed of 4096 kbps, since they want to "fully test these uncapped solutions before they become part of our standard product offering." The other line speeds will be available “within the next few weeks (or sooner)...” depending on how well their 4096 kbps offering fares.

Pricing for the still unavailable 384 kbps, 512 kbps and 8192 kbps uncapped ADSL lines will be R197, R297 and R997 per month respectively. You can sign up now for the 4096 kbps line at R497 per month, if you have an ADSL enabled telephone line from Telkom and an ADSL modem or router.
