For the past eight years gaming enthusiasts throughout the country have been religiously flocking to the Really Awesome Gaming Event (rAge) expo, the biggest gaming expo in South Africa.

This year the 53-hour marathon of gaming is sponsored by Alienware and will see roughly 2080 players descend on the Coca Cola Dome from the 1st to 3rd of October.

Organized by New Age Gaming (NAG) magazine, the event has gained immense popularity over the years and the NAG LAN tickets are usually sold out within a few days of becoming available, so book early to avoid disappointment.

The tickets to the LAN will go on sale on the 1st of August and is available from Computicket at R300 per person. This includes access to the event for the whole weekend, a R100 gift voucher from BT Games, and of course access to the LAN.

The huge event features a total of ten Intel servers and Internet access this year, allowing gamers to play titles which require Internet authentication (such as Starcraft 2).

The rAge expo isn’t only about the LAN though, thousands of visitors flock to the dome each year to check out the myriad of attractions and stands and taking a day to check out the expo is a great experience for gaming and technology enthusiasts alike.
